OUR END OF YEAR SHOW IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE DANCE SCHOOL YEAR.

We split our production into a shorter Junior show and a Middle to Senior show. The Junior show includes the Mini-Movement-Ballet Grade 2 & Jazz Beginner-Jazz Grade 2. The Middle & Senior show includes the Ballet Grade 3 and above, Jazz Grade 3 and above, Tap, All Contemporary Levels.

Set out into a Triple Bill, we begin the show with a senior Ballet item influenced by a well-known ballet. Ex-professional dancer and choreographer Peter Boyes travels up from Wellington to teach the students the repertoire.

The main item of the show is of course the Acts! A different theme is picked every year to bring all of our dancers together. With every class performing a different number it is always sure to be an entertaining and diverse show.

The senior students then again perform a themed, high-energy big Jazz item. It is a real privilege to be involved, and is an experience that is looked forward to by the students from a young age. Previous years items have been Rock On, West Side Story, Rock'N'Roll and Moulin Rouge.

Professional costume designer Anthea Thompson and her team at That's A Wrap work on all of our costumes. These are produced to an incredibly high standard, with over half of the costumes being made from scratch and incorporating different elements such as props, 3D effects and even in-costume lighting!
